worst pet experiences?

hey... what are your people's worst experiences with your home pets? my most recent pet was a $750 parakeet that died due to some stupid disease.

My Pekingese dog at age two had to have a disc removed from his back due to bad breeding. It cost me a three hour drive to Columbus there and back three times, a week off work, AND it cost me $2000.

He is now almost 13 years old.
