Dear Robin's Mom:
I understand that you feel overwhelmed but don't give up. I have a nephew that was born with a cleft palate and a cousin born with a cleft lip. My nephew is now 8 and is thriving in school. He has a lot of friends and is not bothered by his cleft. He has had several surgeries but still keeps going. I have always told him that this is not an impediment just a stumbling block. He will not give up and neither should you. Don't look at your kid like he's handicapped just special. My cousin is now 38 and has his own business so Robin will be fine as long as Mom is there to love him no matter what so don't give up Mom. There is a famous person that has a cleft lip that I will bet you didn't know about Val Kilner. If he can become a star then I will bet Robin could be a Senator or the President.
