Encouragement for Families of Ill Children

I'm setting up a website devoted to helping children with life-threatening illness. On the site, I feature a "child of the month." I tell their story, post picture of the child, and ask visitors to the site to send a cheery card and/or small gift to that child. I also encourage writers to send encouragement to the parents, because I know they often suffer as much as or more than the child does. (it's so difficult to watch your innocent little one suffer and know that there is nothing you can do to take away the pain!) Thank you. What we're trying to do is not much, I know; but it's something. We try to let families know that they are thought about and cared for and we try to put a smile on a kid's face one day at a time.
