soft palate cleft

My five month old son has a cleftin the soft palate and will have it repaired next month. Can anyone tell me how long after surgery we can expect to see him sucking. He currently uses the Haberman feeder. Will he learn to use a regular bottle? If so how long does it usually take for them to learn? You can e-mail me direct at RJ@3ia.com.
