apiration--tube feeding

Our son is 23 has an undiagnosed brain illness. He has a trach
in place. we have tried a cuffed one which he can not tolerate.
He vomits and gags. He has a g tube. We have colored the food
blue and every time we suction the food from his tube is coming
up blue. Is this a GI problem?
