Hi there, haven't been on here for a while. My little Graeme who had soft cleft palate (repair June 7/07) is 21 months now and we are going for 2nd set of tubes in his ears. 1st set was Feb 15th only 6 months ago but he's full of fluid again and the audiologist said he's not hearing much at all. They put the bone vibrator on him and he can hear 100% but just not through the fluid.

He's not talking yet, he says various versions of "meah" which I think means more or just a blanket term. However I think he knows more than he lets us know because I've heard a few more syllables when he wants marshmallows or watermelon!

We had a tube check yesterday and Avery is having another ABR test to see if his hearing has improved since his palate reapir.

He still shows some hearing deficit in both ears.
