soft palate repair....after two weeks...please help

my daughter had her repair 2 weeks ago we saw the Doctor for her follow up he said for me not to let her suck for another month.........what is the earliest anybody has let there child go back to sucking i thought after two weeks she would be me!! she keeps getting strangled really bad with the constant flow in her mouth with out a valve on the cup

We were allowed to let Skylar suck after 10 days.

Hi! Six weeks sounds like an awful long time. (But you should always stick with what your surgeon says!) We were allowed to go back to the Haberman 24 hours post op, but I have a friend who had to wait 2 weeks post op and she used a bottle called the zip n squeeze. It is made especially for kids who have had cleft surgery and other mouth surgeries. It's a lot like a bottle, but you are mostly just squeezing the milk in their mouth. I'm sure you can find them may be worth a shot!
