One year Post-Op - anyone notice droopy lip?

Postby SherriVnNC » Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:49 pm

My daughter, Ava, had her cleft lip repair Jan 07. We rub her lip to this day and still notice her cupid's bow is still a teeny bit higher on the cleft side and that there is considerable scar tissue on the lip itself. We have been working with a speech therapist and while she has made so much progress, we are starting to notice her lip droops. I'm worried that she may have nerve damage. Anyone experience this? Thanks for sharing!

I have no advice as EJ only had a cleft of the soft palate but I wanted to wish you luck.

Our son Avery had his lip repair in January and his lip is smaller on one side than the other right now. He had a full bilateral cleft lip and palate. We will have palate repair in July and are expecting some revisions in the future but this is something we will watch out for.
