hey there- just wondering how much time I have to save up. My husband can also take time off as well. I was thinking between 3-4 weeks. Do you think this is okay? Her surgery is not scheduled but its always on my mind... Sandy

I would say to definitely take at least 2 weeks, and then you won't have to go back until after the post-op appt, and your sure everything is okay. I would just make sure you have help for the first week. That week there was not much sleeping going on in our house! I went back after 2 weeks but Jack stayed with my Mom one more week before going back to daycare, so it worked well that way. After that he was able to go back just fine. Hope that helped!

Hi there, I took off three weeks. Our little one is in daycare and definitely needed the three weeks at home. The first two weeks are hard, the third is much better and by the fourth things were almost normal. good luck and I agree with Allison, if you can get some help those first two weeks do it, there is almost no sleep. happy holidays, Heide

I only took off a week for Eyson's surgery. He did exceptionally well after his surgery, though.
