cholesteatoma

I writing this to warn everyone with a cleft palate to be aware of this possible complication, What is a Cholesteatoma, It is an epithelial cyst.
Techinically not a tumor, But it does grow indepently. It grows slowly and
is able to erode and destroy bone in their path. Leading to destruction of the inner ear. Why are they more likely to effect people with with cleft
palate because most people with this condition have poor eustachian tube
function and this alone is the leading cause of a formation of a cholesteatoma, So please take note of your ears and have any infection of them treated.
