Where do you live? What bottle are you using? I want to help, I can get some bottles you can squeeze and that pushes the milk into their cheek and then they can drink it.

Are you able to receive packages? There are several different types of special bottles/nipples. Some are called Haberman, some are called pigeon feeders. I'll see if I can find out where you can order them from.

Here's a link to various bottles. It looks like the maker of the Haberman does not allow for it's export. The pigeon feeder may be your best bet.

Here's a link to a group which provides cleft surgery and other services in Gaza. If you scroll to the bottom of the page there's a "contact us" link. Perhaps they can help.

The last two feeders shown on this link may also be an option. They're also called Mead-Johnson feeders/bottles.

I guess I'm not sure what kind of help you're looking for. Did you read any of my replies? Were any of them helpful? What happens when you try to feed your baby? How are you currently trying to feed your baby?

Some babies with clefts are not able to use a regular bottle until they've had surgery or an artificial palate (Latham device, which you're probably also unable to get), some can if the nipple has been cut so it has a bigger hole. Some of the special bottles look similar to regular bottles. What happens when you try to feed your baby? Is the baby able to suck? Does the milk or formula come back out? Does the baby eat too slowly to get enough? Is the baby uninterested in drinking? I have a new niece with UCL with gum involvement who I haven't met yet (since I live in a different state). I'll let others with firsthand experience chime in as to what might help.

I found this info on another website:
Position -- Most of our parents found that feeding the baby in an upright position reduced the problem of food escaping into the nose. Several even experimented with using an infant seat to keep the baby upright since newborns tend to naturally dissolve into a little lump when placed upright.
