I Just Felt Like Sharing

Here are 3 pictures of me before and right after my surgery. They had to make arm splints out of tongue depressors and medical tape along with the Logan Bar strapped around my face. I was only 6 pounds at 5 months for my first surgery. Image

Thank you for sharing Sam

My son, born with Pierre Robin Syndrome (cleft palate, regular tongue, and underdeveloped lower jaw), seem to proliferate a recessive gene. I believe it was chromosome 22 according to our geneticist.

My wife was born with a unilateral cleft palate. She was operated at an early age--6 moths. Though she did search, she could not find any pictures to share.

At least we were partially prepared. None of my other children were born with a cleft.

By the way, you were a cute baby.
