First surgery scheduled

Postby heather » Wed Jan 24, 2007 5:53 pm

Eyson is scheduled to have his first surgery on February 13th. His surgeon says he is looking at about 4 hours. Is this typical? I was just wondering. Here is a really recent picture of my little guy. Heather

Heather, I don't have much to weigh in about surgery, but just thought I'd tell you that Eyson is precious! I love the new black & white picture!

Is he just having the lip done or palate too? Vada's lip and nose was about 3 hours. But dont worry about time. You want them to take their time right? It will all be great!

He looks beautiful!!! I was told ours will take about 1 1/2-2 hours. Dino only has an incomplete & his nose needs very little work. Dino will be almost 6 months, so our surgery will be outpatient. We will be able to go home about 4 hours after surgery. When he can nurse like he is suppose too we can go ahead home. Good luck to you & Eyson. Post lots of pictures!!

I love all of our babies names here! We sure do make them extra special!

Andy's took about 3 1/2 hours. They told us before it would be 3. I would rather they tell me longer because that extra half hour was sooo stressful. Good luck with the surgery...you can read about our surgery at

Andy's surgery was back in September....

Sodapop - He is only getting the lip and his nose done. That's why I didn't know if it was supposed to take 4 hours. His surgeon said that he will be reconstructing his nose, so maybe that's why. I guess I should just be thankful that he wants to take his time and do things right.

Heather we where told 3 hours 4 1/2 later I saw Evan for the first time. That 1 1/2 hours where the worst, I sat there thinking all kinds of things had gone wrong. But then remember those words Evan's Dr said to me before he took him, he was right he did a wonderful job on Evan. Good luck with Eyson's op.
