soft palate repair

Postby Daddy's butterfly » Thu Nov 09, 2006 3:35 pm

Hi! My daughter Gabriella is scheduled for palate surgery on December 13. Any advise is greatly appreciated! I don't know what to expect after the surgery. I just hope the recovery period goes quick.

Just a note to wish your family all the best for the upcoming surgery. Our daughter will not have her palate surgery until January so am unable to give any advice. However, any advice you receive will be appreciated by us and others as well I'm sure - thank you for asking.

Our recovery went very well. It was alot easier than I expected. The roughest part was when my daughter went through "night terrors" She woke up every hour scared & hysterical. It also takes them a little bit to get used to the "new pressure" in their ears from closing the palate.

DS had a cleft of the soft palate only and it was repaired in march. I will try to find my old post.

I will say that EJ had blood coming from his nose and mouth but that is normal. He looked worse than he was.
