Evans recovery has amazed us both, we are both very proud of our little warrior. For those of you that don't know Evan means warrior, His name was chosen well before the u/s that reveiled his secret  . The operation went well first night Evan had a tacky cardo for the the first few hours we had doctors up his morphine drip & all was well after that. ( I know how close we came to losing him but don't like to think of it. ) Five days after discharge he refused all medication and improved overnight. He started eating farex when we got home. I love the way he shakes his head when he doesn't want any more. We have a check up in Sydney in the new year and the palate op between 12 to 15 months. Together as a family we will get though this. We hope you have enjoyed the photos they where chosen by both Mum ma & Dada. A big thank you for your thoughts & prays over the last few weeks.

Big hugs to you all :D

OOo MY!! That 1st picture made me just about cry..I miss that little notch of Ella's..Those pictures are SO good..What a doll and what a little personality on him! Isn't it amazing to see them after all of that damn glue is off? He is a doll! I love seeing pictures in stages..It's so good to see where they started and where they are now..What a help for people that stumble onto this site as well!! Adorable!

He is absolutely beautiful! That 12 days post op photo? What kind of device is holding his lip together? Vada has to have the NAM inserted this friday. Is it something similar to that?

Glue is holding his lip together all part of how Dr Hayward did it said bubs cant get the glue off (it was purple & tacky at first) That is the reason we had no arm restraints. Evan when back on his haberman hours after op and was allowed to suck on his hands & fingers. :D

Glue?

Postby Hilla » Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:43 pm

Hello

Evan looks amazing! What a cutie. Is there a website that I could read about that glue which was used? I have never heard such thing. When is his next operation. My daughter was also born in May 2006 :)

Give my love to Evan

Laura

Don't know if there is a web site about the glue. I know it is some type of super glue & that Evan's Dr is the only one that uses it here. It stops the need for aim restraints. It was use over his stitches and the removed 2 weeks 2 days after op. Big hugs to Hilla.

Hello

I will look into that glue;) I know that some kind of glue is used in internal organs surgery, but I have never heard that in cleft lip.
