pharyngeal or sphincter

My daughter is 4 and we think she is going to have another surgery. I need some info from parents and kids. Does either the pharyngeal flap or the sphincter pharyngoplasty make a difference in speech. Both of these are options for her. I am afraid of the possible complications. Please help with any info on these. Thank You
