G-tube "transition"

Postby birdierae » Sun Jan 08, 2006 4:03 am

Hi, my daughter, Dominic, was born, Nov. 4 '04 with BCL/P, a small VSD, low birth weight, and microcephaly. She is gorgeous and so much fun. ...except for feedings! can anyone identify? She had a Mickey button--gastronomy feeding tube placed at 14 days of age. Therapists keep promising me she will feed oraly 100% "some day". Right now on a good day she might take 4ounces of liquid orally (in the Haberman bottle) and eat 2 puffy cheetos. Does anyone have any encouragement or creative ideas along the oral feeding/drinking lines.
