Info on Furlow

Could anyone please give me some advice regarding the Furlow method and what the results were afterwards? My 6 year old daughter has a very short palate and after having a videofluroscopy and nasendoscopy yesterday, her surgeon has suggested this operation using the Furlow method but I don't know of anyone who has had this done.
