Problems to swallow

Our son Richie is 9 and had 7 surg. to repair the cleft and palate. Until present Richie can not each solid food. He went through years of therapy but nothing seemed to help or change his absolute refusal to chew and swallow any solid food. He will choke immediately. Has anybody had similar experiences ?
We saw dozens of Doctors over the years, but nobody could really give us answers or a diagnose.
We would appreciate any comment.
