Both my grandfather and cousin have cleft lip and palate, so
it runs in the family. Are there different degrees of severity?
When getting bracies in high scholl, my dentist noticed that my
palate curves down instead of up, and the two bones are next to
each other, but never fully fused together. There is a small
split in the skin where these bones come together, but I don't
think it goes all the way through. I also have a smaller jaw,
which was corrected with orthodontics. Mild disfluency, nasal
drainage problems, and ear fluid are chronic. No one has ever
brought up the possibility of partial clefts. Is there such a
thing?. Does anyone have information? Please contact me at
