Unless you ise Dr. Magee when it can be as young as 3 days!! He is the only one I know that does it before 10 months. He repaired my son's bilateral complete lip at 12 days and palate at 3 months.

Does anyone know the benefits/risks of doing the palate repair early vs. late? How often is it done in two surgeries?

It depends on your surgeon, and YOU! Our surgeon said that they repair the cleft anywhere from 6m to 1 1/2 years. So we fought for 6m. Once we talked to our surgeon about it, he was willing to move up the date. Sometimes you just have to ask!!
