They wont talk!!

I have a bilateral cleft lip and palate, and i have been asked
as part of my GNVQ health and social care course to do some
research on a subject which appeals to me. My Dad and Sister also
have Cleft lips and palate, but they wont talk to me about it as
they are both ashamed of it. I have tried asking them to talk
about it but they don't seem to want to, My sister had cosmetic
surgery on her nose, and my plastic surgeon has asked me to make
a decision as to whether i want it or not, i would like any one
who has had it to tell me about it.
