HELP - FEEDING ISSUES IN BABY

Postby Kim » Wed Jul 24, 2002 3:20 am

Hello - We have a 4 month old born with cleft lip and palate - repaired at 23 days. He still does not want to eat by mouth and when he does, it comes out his nose. He has had a large fistula since surgery - please tell me the probability that his eating issue is attributed to this? Also any others websites, chats or discussion boards to talk to moms with babies in same situation. Thanks!
Kim

Though I'm not a doctor myself. I have a hunch that the feeding issue with your cleft affected infant is likely to be related to the fistula that occurred since his surgery. I would suggest checking with your physician about the issue. Jeff Alterman at alterman@bestweb.net
