Discomfort From Submucous Cleft Palate

Postby Jeff Alterman » Fri Dec 21, 2001 5:23 pm

I'm 38 1/2 years old and it turns out that I have an incomplete submucous cleft palate (hard palate only). My speech is minimally affected due to a small amount of velopharyngeal incompetence. In itself that isn't so bad. The worst thing about my condition is the pain that I've had from it sometimes. It can hurt a good amount sometimes. Now I have that situation under control with a hood that I wear at night when I sleep that covers my cheeks to help keep my mouth wram. Now I'm not in so much pain from my submucous cleft palate. If anyone else has experienced pain from their cleft of any kind please contact me. My E-mail is alterman@bestweb.net
