Hi, I have a 1 year old son born with a wide unilaterial cleft lip in palate and all is well. Ethan had his lip repair done at age 3 months, I think the surgery was harder on us then Ethan as he bounced back really quickly and did very well. The repair is wonderful. We feed Ethan with a Mead Johnson bottle with a regular evenflo nipple. Basically, you just lightly squeeze the bottle so that milk flows through the nipple, Ethan quickly developed his own gum/tonguing method and didn't really need to much assistance. When Ethan was 10 months old, he had his palate repair, it healed very well and he now has really good sucion. It is amazing. If you would like to e-mail me any time, its: dmallan@telusplanet.net

Hi Dianne,

I was wondering how long the Cleft Palate surgery takes.

I think that the surgery should take about one hour.
