sinus problems cleft related - Yes they are!!

I am 36 years old and was born with a double cleft palate.


As a child I had many surgerys to repair my birth defect.


As a adult I had developed cronic ears nose and throat problems, causing me to be on medication for months at a time.


Three years ago I went to a ears nose and throat specialist who discovered that my sinus passages did not develop as they should have. He stated that years back they did not realize that part of this birth defect is also within the sinus passages.


The doctor operated and within six months I was off of medication for the first time in ten months.


Although I still experience some infections they are minimal compared to where I was three years ago.
