short palate

does anyone have information on a short palate?

My daughter has a short palate. It took 5 years to find. She has Velopharyngeal Insufficiency. She has had the "flap" surgery twice. The last one was in Feb. 2000, and we are not sure that one worked.
She is nasal when she talks, and sometimes food and drink would come out of her nose when she eats.
