My son is 4 1/2 years old, born with cleft lip/palate. Had perfect speech prior to having tonsils and adnoids removed. His speech then had a "snort/nasal rattle" sound but is inconsitant. Speech therapist has worked with him for about a year with little improvement. Through several evaluations I am being told either: He is hyponasal, hypernasal, It is a error in learning, to the palate is not long enough. I'm really stuck as to who to listen to/believe. I just want what is best for him! He is a smart boy! Any suggestions, ideas would be greatly appreciated. e-mail:cuttler495@aol.com
