Getting over Fears of Meeting People

Postby mm3@ucla.edu » Tue Aug 17, 1999 12:30 am

My name's Michelle and I'm 19 (i just discovered this site,
and it's GREAT). I was wondering whether anyone had any advice on
how to get over this overwhelming shyness I have with meeting
people due to my past with being picked on as a child- especially
a fear with the opposite sex. I always worry that I'm being
judged for how I look, or as they're laughing at me in their
head. Does anyone have any advice for what I can do to help
alleviate this? Also, does anyone know of any support groups for
people with clefts or speech therapy in the LA area? Thank you!
