I am a 33 year old who was born with a bilateral cleft lip and
palate. I had a team of doctors from early infancy to my late
high school years. The surgeon who did my corrective surgery was,
in my opinion, too conservative in his treatment. Each repair was
a separate operation. If you want to know more about my history,
you can do a search or ask. About 3 years ago, I began treatment
with a surgeon who I consider truly brilliant. His name is Dr.
Court Cutting and he is the head of the Cleft Palate Center of
New York University Hospital. What he accomplished in one
operation would have taken 4 or 5 surgeries by the other surgeon.
I've seen children that were treated by him, that look truly
wonderful. Because I am an adult, I no longer need a team,
however, he works together with a competent team of dentists,
orthodontists, speech therapists, otolaryngologists, etc. He is
not only a very talented doctor but a very nice man; someone that
is easy to voice your concerns to. If you have any other
questions, you may email me at

you! And please let us know who you decide to go with.
