My daughter was born with a uni-lateral cleft lip and palate.
She underwent 3 major surgeries prior to her lst birthday. Now
she is four years old and one of her nasal passage is noticeably
smaller than the other one. When I mention this to her plastic
surgeon he states that he will not repair her nose till she is in
her teens. I am very concerned about the taunting she may receive
from other children when she starts kindergarten next year. We
live in state where we have only two plastic surgeons and our
health insurance will only pay for surgery that is a medical
necessity. I would like to hear from any one out there who has
experience and would offer me advice under these circumstances.
